Ensemble Galilei delights crowd at Brown Theatre
Performing First Person: Stories From the Edge of the World the new collaboration
with NPR’s Talk of the Nation host Neal Conan and the National Geographic
Society, Ensemble Galilei delighted the crowd during its performance April 4
in Cowley College’s Robert Brown Theatre.
The performance featured spectacular photographs from the National Geographic
Image Collection, narratives from some of the world’s greatest explorers
interwoven with Ensemble Galilei’s brilliant performances of Irish, Scottish,
early and original music. Edited, written, and narrated by Neal Conan,
host of NPR’s “Talk of the Nation.”
The presentation was supported by the Mid-America Arts Alliance with generous
underwriting by the National Endowment for the Arts, Kansas Arts Commission,
and foundations, corporations and individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri,
Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
