We Heard From...
2000’s
Chantal (Sanders) Drumgole, Class of 2002, and her husband, Josh, Class of 2002,
live in Austin, Texas. The couple has a five month old daughter, Janae. Chantal
is currently in nursing school, while Josh works in management. Chantal is a
former runner-up for Queen Alalah and Josh was a member of the Tiger basketball
team. The couple met while attending Cowley.
Allyson (Hills) Bass, Class of 2002, and her husband, Harold, live in
Blackwell, Okla. She is currently employed at Braums, while Harold works
for Ratliff, Inc.
1990’s
Stayce (Logue) Smith, Class of 1999, lives in Wichita, Kan. She is an
assistant property manager for Twin Rivers Apartments in Wichita. She
recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in
Business Management. She hopes to one day open her own bakery. She
has fond memories of her time at Cowley and was the recipient of the
first CARE student of the year award. She believes Cowley will forever
play a tremendous role in her life as well as the lives of her children.
She has a son, C.J. 16, and a daughter, Jessica 14.
Shana Jackson, Class of 1991, and her husband, Theo
Stafford, Class of 1991, live in Hugo, Okla. Shana is employed as an
adoption specialist, while Theo is a boiler operator. Theo was a member of the 1990-91
Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division winning Tiger men’s basketball
team, which was coached by Ron Murphree. The couple has two children,
Ashlyn 15, and Jordan 11.
1970’s
Harold Schuessler, Class of 1973, lives in Arkansas City. He is employed
at Popkorn Auction Company and is the owner of the Light Camera Action
Video Company. He fondly recalls former Cowley College instructor Walt
Mathiasmeier giving him words of encouragement. He enjoys racing
demo cars in his free time and holds track records at 81 Speedway in
Wichita, Kan. He has two daughters, Ronda and Melisa.
1940’s
Dr. Jordan Burkey, Class of 1943, lives in Springfield, Mo. He has fond
memories of when the college was located in the basement of the Arkansas
City High School, and the Ark Light newspaper covered both the high
school and the college. Several teachers also taught at both schools.
