Fine Arts and Media Day Registration
Since Fine Arts Day 2010-2011 is not until March 2, 2011, please do not complete this online registration form until the 2010 Fall Semester.
To be eligible for the Prodigy Awards competitions, you must submit this registration by February 25, 2011. To be eligible for theatre and music scholarships, you must submit this registration form by March 1, 2011.

Note: All High School students - from freshmen through seniors - can enter the Art & Design, Mass Media and Creative Writing Prodigy Awards competitions and win cash vouchers and medals. Only graduating seniors are eligible for Art & Design, Mass Media, and Creative Writing Scholarships. Only graduating seniors are eligible to audition for theatre, vocal music, instrumental music and piano scholarships.

Your portfolio should include three examples in the design areas that show the range of your design talents. It can be screen captures, on CD, or url link. Portfolios must be delivered to Cowley College by February 26, 2010.

Creative Writing

Please mark the categories that will be included in your portfolio that you will enter in the Creative Writing Competition at Fine Arts Day. Your portfolio should include five creative writing pieces that show the range of your writing talents, including short stories, poetry and song lyrics. Portfolios must be delivered to Cowley College by February 26, 2010.
List the titles and categories of the creative writing compositions that you will include in your portfolio.

Theatre Scholarship
Please mark if you are auditioning for a Performance Theatre Scholarship, Technical Theatre Scholarship, or both. Students auditioning for a Performance scholarship must have at least one monologue memorized and ready to perform. Two contrasting monologues are suggested. Auditions will be limited to 2 minutes. Technical Theatre Scholarships will includes a review of past experience. Please bring a portfolio, pictures, or examples of your work.

Vocal Music Scholarship
To audition at Fine Arts Day you will sing a solo (an art song is preferred or you may sing a musical theatre piece), memorized and accompanied by piano.

Instrumental Music Scholarship

To audition at Fine Arts Day please prepare two excerpts from your current Concert Band folder, one that displays your technical ability and one that displays the expressive qualities of your playing. Also be prepared to play a Bb, Eb, and F concert scale as well as a chromatic scale over the full range of your instrument.

Piano Scholarship

To audition at Fine Arts Day you will perform one memorized piano solo from standard classical repertoire, between 3-5 minutes in length. You will be asked to play major scales and arpeggios (2 octaves minimum) to determine technical ability. You will also be given a simple piece to sight read during the audition.

Studio and Musical Theatre Dance Scholarship
To audition at Fine Arts Day you will need to perform a dance piece of your own that is no longer than 2-3 minutes in length. Music must be on a CD or IPOD.
