DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS
Cowley College is seeking a full-time Director of Admissions. This position is responsible for providing supervision and overall direction for admissions and recruitment for Cowley College. 
The successful candidate will:

  • develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate a  comprehensive recruitment and admissions plan,
  • develop and maintain relationships with area high school principals and counselors,
  • manage the Student Ambassadors program,
  • Compile, understand and utilize recruitment/admissions data while developing and implementing recruitment/admissions strategies,
  • actively participate in all aspects of the recruitment, admissions and enrollment processes, and
  • motivate, mentor, train and supervise admissions team members.

Bachelor’s Degree with a proven track record of success in recruitment, required.

SYSTEMS/NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

IT positions

Position Duties:

  • Maintain and manage the wireless technologies for the College.
  • Maintain and manage the virtual environment of Cowley College (VMware).
  • Maintain and manage server infrastructure (Windows).
  • Maintain  and manage the College’s SAN (Storage Area Network) environment.
  • Maintain and manage the servers, desktop computers and other technologies used by the College.
  • Maintain and manage the computer networks and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain and manage the security of the College’s network and data.
  • Create and maintain user accounts on the College’s computer networks.
  • Manage the systematic backup of all critical programs and data stored on the College networks.

Required Experience:

  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting computer networks.
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting servers.
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting virtual environments.
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting wireless systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting SAN technologies.

Required Education Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Data Processing, Computer Science or related field, or a combination of equivalent industry certifications, training and experience.

SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

IT positions

Position Duties:

  • Project lead for the implementation and ongoing operation of the student information system.
  • Act as the internal point-of-contact for College student information system.
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests.
  • Respond to service related issues (e.g. database backups, maintenance and monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure problems are identified and resolved.
  • Respond to database related alerts and escalations and work to come up with strategic solutions to reoccurring problems.
  • Establish and maintain communication with campus customers by keeping them updated with status of their requests.
  • Initiate and perform changes on production systems and proactively escalate any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.

Required Experience:

  • Five years of database administration experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SQL, preferably MSSQL Server, including current and previous versions.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience in implementing operation automation using scripts.
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
  • Experience with a broad range of technology, tools and applications.
  • Experience with Jenzabar EX, preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale project management, preferred.
  • Experience with implementation of ERP systems, preferred.
  • Experience in higher education, preferred.

Required Education Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • MCTS, MCITP, MCSE Certifications, preferred.

Cowley College is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to teach Preparatory Algebra, College Algebra, Composition I and Preparatory English on the Arkansas City campus, at the Mulvane Center and online. 
Applicants should have the ability to communicate effectively with students and college personnel; provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives of the assigned courses; and create a meaningful learning environment. A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate level coursework in the content area, required. Master's Degree, preferred. A minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferred.

ADJUNCT NURSE AIDE INSTRUCTOR

According to state and federal standards, each course instructor must be a registered nurse with a current Kansas license and have a minimum of two years' licensed nursing experience. At least 1,750 hours must be as a licensed nurse in a setting which demonstrates long-term geriatric nursing care, such as an adult care home or a distinct-part long term care unit or a state institution for the mentally retarded. Additionally, all nurse aide instructors must have completed a course in teaching adults or a professional continuing education offering on supervision or adult education, or shall have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides. To document alternative long-term care setting: “Alternative Practice Setting Experience” form is available upon request.

ADJUNCT HOME HEALTH AIDE INSTRUCTOR

According to state and federal standards, each instructor of a home health aide course must be a registered nurse with a current Kansas license and have direct work experience in the provision of home health care.
