Welding Technology



Welding Technology

Cowley College offers the certificate program and the associate degree. The students have the opportunity to learn practical knowledge and skill competencies associated with welding, metal fabrication and related processes. Students will develop skills in welding theory, SMAW, MIG and TIG processes.

Students will be provided exposure to a variety of materials including aluminum, mild and stainless steel.  The student will also be competent in the use of oxy-acetylene cutting torch and plasma cutting.

Students are employed in a wide variety of fields like aircraft, manufacturing, and railroad. Possible job opportunities include construction companies, heavy equipment repair, metal manufacturing, field repair welding, fabrication shops and maintenance.  See the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook for Welders here .

Locations
A comprehensive Welding program is taught at the main campus in Arkansas City and the Mulvane Welding Technology Center .
