If you are interested in helping others, are a hard worker and enjoy encouraging that “satisfied” smile from someone in need, then working as a CNA (certified nursing assistant) may be for you.The CNA has the privilege of meeting the basic needs of our citizens who need it most. This satisfying profession can be a prerequisite for the nursing program, or a stand alone opportunity.
The nursing assistant program is offered at several locations, with opportunities for clinical practice in area long term care facilities.
Other nursing assistant classes are available to increase the student ’s knowledge and marketability.
• The HHA (home health aide) class instructs the CNA how to help elderly, convalescent, or disabled persons live in their own homes instead of in a health care facility.
• The RA (restorative aide) class trains the CNA to assist therapy departments in long term care facilities, acute care facilities, and to carry out rehabilitative plans of care in the client’s home.
• The CMA (certified medication aide) class allows the CNA student to pass medications and treatments to long term care residents.
Our instructors are all registered nurses who have a significant amount of experience in their area of expertise.
