AQIP at Cowley
Cowley College
is a quality-driven
institution that is
committed to a systematic approach to
continuous
quality improvement.
Our dedication to learning excellence
and personal enrichment ensures that
our administration, faculty and staff promote quality education to all of our students.
AQIP was launched in July 1999 with a generous grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts. AQIP, the Academic Quality Improvement Program, infuses the principles and benefits of continuous improvement into the culture of colleges and universities by providing an alternative process through which an already-accredited institution can maintain its accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission. With AQIP, an institution demonstrates it meets accreditation standards and expectations through sequences of events that align with those ongoing activities that characterize organizations striving to improve their performance.

"Discover the Noise" In-Service
October 6, 2006
A day-long session was designed to
aid in the exploration of "the Noise" that makes Cowley College the
unique learning community that it is and to amplify the bet of this "noise" in
the creation of what Cowley College will become in the years ahead.
This in-service was facilitated by Dr. David
Gatewood, an Organizational Development Consultant. He used an Appreciative
Inquiry approach to:
1. Discover the noise of Cowley's past, focusing on "whats' working," successes
and "high point" experiences
2. Identify which of Cowley's great noise, its positive core of what
people value most, should be part of Cowley's future, and
3. Create images of what the noise of the future, based on the best of
the past should look like at Cowley.
